SAT Math Exam Prep 2026 Digital SAT Free Resource Updated 2025 · The School of Mathematics

The SAT Math section trips up more students than any other part of the exam — not because the math is impossibly hard, but because of the pace and breadth of what's tested. You need to cover algebra, quadratics, data analysis, and geometry in just 70 minutes. The students who score highest don't work harder — they practice smarter.

At The School of Mathematics, we built the most comprehensive free SAT Math QBank available online. 700+ questions. 13 topic modules. 17 timed mini-exams. 8 full adaptive practice tests with separate Module 1 and Module 2. All free, all aligned to the 2026 Digital SAT format. No account needed to start.

Completely free — no paywall, no account needed. Every quiz, mini-exam, and full practice test is accessible immediately. Our platform is supported by display advertising only.

About the Digital SAT Math Section

The Digital SAT Math section consists of two adaptive modules, each with 22 questions and 35 minutes — 44 questions and 70 minutes in total. Module 1 presents a broad mix of difficulties. Your Module 1 performance determines whether Module 2 is harder or easier, making the test adaptive at the module level. Strong early performance is the key to reaching the highest possible scores.

A calculator is permitted for the entire Math section. The Bluebook testing app includes a built-in Desmos graphing calculator. About 75% of questions are multiple-choice; the remaining 25% are student-produced responses. A geometry reference sheet is provided at the start of each module.

6 Tips to Raise Your SAT Math Score

Expert strategy for the 2026 Digital SAT Math section.

  1. Master Heart of Algebra first. Linear functions, systems of equations, and inequalities make up ~35% of the test and appear in almost every full exam.
  2. Use Desmos for nonlinear equations. Graphing is often faster than solving quadratics or exponentials by hand. Practice opening the calculator efficiently before test day.
  3. Aim for 90 seconds per question. You have 35 minutes for 22 questions per module — strict pacing from your very first practice session.
  4. Never leave a blank. There is no penalty for wrong answers on the SAT. Always make your best guess before moving on.
  5. Memorize key formulas. A geometry reference sheet is provided, but knowing the quadratic formula, trig ratios, and circle formulas cold saves 30–60 seconds per exam.
  6. Review every wrong answer. Understanding exactly why you missed a question beats doing 10 more questions without reflection.

Frequently Asked Questions

The SAT Math section covers four domains: Heart of Algebra (~35%), Advanced Math (~35%), Problem-Solving & Data Analysis (~15%), and Geometry & Trigonometry (~15%). Our 13 practice modules are organized to match these exact proportions so you can target what matters most.
Two adaptive modules of 22 questions each — 44 questions in 70 minutes total. Module 1 is mixed difficulty. Based on your Module 1 performance, Module 2 adapts up or down in difficulty. That's why we structure our full practice exams as separate Module 1 and Module 2 quizzes — take them back-to-back for the most realistic simulation.
Yes — a calculator is allowed for the entire Math section. The Bluebook app includes a built-in Desmos graphing calculator. You may also bring your own College Board-approved calculator.
Scores range from 200 to 800. A score of 600+ is generally competitive for most four-year colleges; 700+ is strong for selective programs; 750+ is excellent. A perfect 800 places you in the top ~1% of all test takers nationally.
Most students improve significantly with 6–10 weeks of focused preparation. Start by drilling individual topic modules to identify and close gaps, then shift to full timed practice exams in the final 2–3 weeks before test day.
